The Keabroir LHS-MXC1545 dedicated screw-in mount lens hood shade is specifically designed for XC 15-45mm F3.5-5.6 OIS PZ, XF 18mm f2 R Lens. It is used to prevent unwanted stray light from entering the lens by extending and shading the end of it. This dedicated hood is designed perfectly to suit the specific focal length of the compatible lens. The non-glare matte finish on the inside further prevents or limits lens flare.

Since the end of the lens is extended, you will also get benefit of extra protection from accidental impact or scratching.
