When drilling the shorter the drill you can use the better. Short length results in a very rigid and sturdy drill. Excellent for exact location shallow drilling. Excellent as a starting drill. Used by machinists and hobbyists. Often used in CNC machinery or for any drilling application that allows for a shorter overall length. Not recommended for drilling steels (use a die drill or coolant drill instead). Made in the USA.
