The fixed set point shunt is an external shunt suitable for measuring DC currents below 10kA. To extend the DC current measurement range, it can be used with an analog display instrument that acts directly on the instrument. Alternatively, the circuit can be treated as a standard resistor for current sampling, and the sampled voltage can be measured using current and treated as an analog signal.
