Projection welding is especially useful for creating threaded fastening points on thick metal surfaces. This weld screw, with its three projections located precisely under the head, permits flush mounting. The precision of the weld is also idea for applications where appearance is important and surface marking needs to be prevented on the reverse side of the metal surface. Projection weld screws are manufactured in mild and stainless steel.
