Position:
The fuel pump is white and sits under the back seat. You lift the bottom part of seat up. Then there is a metal plate to unscrew. Then it is there with a hose attached.

Repair your fuel leak with this part :
1.since these caps crack and leak with age, replace them due to the top of the filter cracks.
2.the old filter was really holding back the flow of the fuel pump. Causing a minor lean condition due to an old clogged fuel filter.

Warm tips:
1.Beware that It does NOT include new rubber washers for the hose plugins, you'll have to reuse old one on one of the hoses
2.Getting all the o-rings back in place .
3.Take your time when disconnecting the two hoses, and try not to damage the tabs.
4.Having an extra set of hands with small flat head screwdrivers really helps to safely detach clips without breaking anything.

Best to carefully examine everything you take off before re-installing. Also take care with the clips - breaking one will ruin day

The one part that difficult during installation was the gasket that goes around the base of this part, that seals the gas tank with the lock ring. You have to install the tank gasket into the hole of the gas tank while pump is half way in. Then slide the filter down into the gas tank through the gasket. Leaving only a small lip on top of the gas tank in between the tank and filter housing for sealing.

If the "O-Ring" that caused you all the trouble was at the fuel pick-up fitting and was not an easy fix. Expertise suggest put some S T P or similar oil lube on the O-ring and "Channel-L o k" that fitting together until it clicks.
