These knobs have been completely redesigned to allow for a tighter bite and easier gripping for removal or adjustment New 5 lobe design allows for easy grip even with gloves on The contact surface has been extended to provide a better more secure bite with less pressure. I fish offshore and the pounding the boat takes sometimes loosens the original Lowrance knobs unless you tighten so tight you cant adjust the angle without pliers.
