We're proud to provide these unique, eco-friendly rosaries to enrich your prayer experience. Crafted with hand-carved olive wood beads sourced sustainably from ancient trees in the Bethlehem region, these Anglican rosaries provide a tactile focus for prayer. Originating from the mid-1980s, Reverend Lynn Bauman devised these rosaries to promote contemplative and meditative prayer, offering a tangible tool to prevent the mind from wandering during prayers. The structure of these rosaries is distinct, comprising 33 beads. Four groups of seven beads, referred to as 'weeks,' are interspersed with larger, individual beads. These four 'cruciform' beads align to form the points of a cross when laid out in a circle, while a lone 'invitatory' bead follows the cross, adding up to 33 beads in total. The term 'rosary' stems from the Latin 'rosarium,' translating to 'Crown of Roses.' Please be aware that this rosary is not a necklace style and does not fit over an adult's head. These rosaries are as environmentally conscious as they are spiritually symbolic, made exclusively from the prunings of ancient olive trees growing in the area of Jesus' nativity, as noted in Matt 2 and Luke 2.
