The SerialComm CON-485/422-EE9 is high quality, high performance, industrial-grade, standalone panel or rack mounted externally powered opto-isolated RS232 to 2-Wire RS485 or 4-Wire RS422 converter enclosed in a heavy-duty steel housing. It includes a terminal block with selectable port-power for easy installation.
This heavy duty converter features ESD (Electrostatic Discharge) and surge protection in a 9 pin or RJ45 format.
This unit is bi-directional with autosensing and auto-turnaround, which means it will not only convert from RS232 to RS485/RS422, but also RS485/RS422 to RS232 while providing 2500V optical isolation for up to 115.2K baud without the need for software drivers or flow control.
It is also externally powered so you do not have to worry about your RS232 device's ability to port-power the converter. It features optical isolation circuitry, which effectively protects your devices from voltage surges, lightning, noise, and ground loop conditions.
