downcomer, bubble and a plate (not included here) combine a complete copper bubble plate which used to force interaction of liquid and vapor inside a distiller. A whole bubble plate often has several bubbles and one downcomer. A----downcomer is used to gather liquid above the bubble plate. B----bubble is allowing vapor to go through the bubble and prevent distilling dropping back.
