High strength neoprene is a very good choice for gasketing between flanges with a high bolt load. Used primarily as a flange gasket, this material is so strong and durable it doesn't fail over thermal cycling and wet, oily or abrasive environments.  Neoprene Rubber is used for demanding applications that involve tough rubber that has a high resistance to tearing and a higher susceptibility to corrosion.
