The Meinl Sonic Energy wave drum (or ocean drum) is made of Siam oak with pre-tuned rawhide goat skin and clear synthetic heads. Inside are mixed metal beads that give the drum its instantly recognizable ocean surf sound effect. PLEASE NOTE: the natural head will have slight color variations from pictures shown. Slowly tilt the drum any direction to allow the beads to roll around the drum head (recommended to hold the drum with the transparent synthetic head facing up). Use for sound immersion, sound baths, ASMR, meditation, yoga, Reiki therapy, live acoustic music, and recorded music. TWO BIG THINGS: you can control the amount of beads inside with the sealable port on the shell (go for a light or strong sound). The heads are pre-tuned and playable with your hands or soft mallet (mallet sold separately). BY THE NUMBERS: 20" diameter x 2.5" deep. The drum has a wide variety of uses, but it's best suited for sound immersion to create relaxing ocean sounds—a great tool for sound healing practitioners.
