FITMENT: The best way to be certain that a replacement remote will 'fit' your vehicle is to MATCH THE FCC ID as well as the form (shape of the case and button configuration). We clearly specify which FCC IDs the part will replace. The FCC ID is usually printed on the outside of the case of the remote, and sometimes on the inside. We usually also specify the OE part number of the original part that our part will replace. Sometimes manufacturers produced remotes for different systems that looked similar or even identical, but these remotes can have different internal circuity and are not interchangeable. PROGRAMMING: You may see references to "programming" your remote, but in fact it is the vehicle (specifically, the control module in the vehicle), that must be programmed to recognize signals from the replacement remote control tranmitter. We specify if the system that uses this replacement part is User-Programmable, or requires special tools (i.e., a dealership or automotive locksmith) to program. When the system is user-programmable, programming is generally a simple procedure and we include simple DIY instructions with the replacement part and provide free phone support. Sometimes, whether a replacement is user-programmable or requires special equipment depends on the specific Make, Model and Model Year of the vehicle. Please contact us if you have any questions.
