It requires a hand drill with a 3/8"(10mm) or larger chuck to cut holes from 1-5/8"(40mm) to 8"(200mm) in diameter and materials up to 3/4"(19mm) thick from one side, 1-1/8"(30mm) thick from two sides

Caution

* When cutting into walls, floors or ceilings, always check to ensure that no electric cables or water pipes etc are in the vicinity of the proposed cut

* Always keep the cutting blades sharp

* Do not use undue force, or too great a drill speed, suggested cutting speeds

* Ensure the cutting blade holders are tight before use

* Make sure to measure the CUTOUT for the product (speaker, recessed light) you are installing. The size of the product you are installing uses a larger cutout, and the needed size is different by manufacturer of the canned light or the speaker

* Screw the wing nut on to the threaded end of the spindle so that that assembly is secure

* As with any new tool, always test on a scrap piece of material to get familiar with the tool
