This SMC KDM10S-04 socket side of a multi-connector is one half of a plug and socket-type connector for securely joining 10 tubes through a panel. It is intended for use with 4 mm outside diameter (OD) soft nylon or polyurethane tubing. The plug and socket halves of the connector are keyed for alignment and allow connection and disconnection of the tubes in a single action for reduced installation time. The halves are held securely together by a knurled nut. The rectangular case is made of polybutylene terephthalate (PBT) for resistance to corrosion, and the connector has a maximum operating pressure of 145 pounds per square inch (psi) and an operating temperature range of -5 to +60 degrees C. This multi-connector socket is suitable for use in joining tubes through a panel for quick disconnection, such as with pneumatic test equipment and a test panel.
Tube fittings are components used for connecting, branching, terminating, and changing the direction of tubing in pneumatic and hydraulic systems. They are made of brass, stainless steel, polybutylene terephthalate (PBT), and other materials that resist corrosion and wear. Tube fittings have various types of connections, including threaded, welded, barbed, and push-to-connect (also called one-touch). Push-to-connect connections do not require tools or sealants. Tube fittings are used in various applications, including machine tools, airplane and truck controls, and automated production lines, among others.
