Designed for the 2-cylinder 40 HP and 3-cylinder 45, 50, 55, and 60 HP models. The poppet valve system in Mercury outboards works in conjunction with the thermostat to regulate water flow and maintain consistent powerhead temperature. When the thermostat or poppet valve fails, symptoms include temperature gauge fluctuations, poor idle quality, and reduced fuel economy. Kit contains thermostat, poppet valve, cup, diaphragm, spring, gaskets, elbow fitting, and hardware. Replaces Mercury 14586A6 and 75692A13.
