Africa Heartwood Project Gankogui Double Bell - Agogo High Low Cow Bell - Hand-Forged Metal Bell from West Africa - Unique Native Hand Percussion Musical Instrument - Stick included
ABOUT GANKOGUI - The iconic Gankogui (gawn-koe-KWI) from Ghana is also known as double bell, or hi-low bell, and is similar to the Agogo bell of Nigeria. It is used in a variety of African percussion music but is traditionally from the Anlo-Ewe of Ghana, Togo, and Benin.
HAND-FORGED GANKOGUI FROM AFRICAN TOGO - This African bell is hand-forged from recycled iron by master blacksmiths in Togo. It has durable construction and it's built with the quality of sound as a priority. May include a wood handle or plain iron hook handle, depending on which blacksmith made the bell.
BRIGHT SUSTAINED TONES - A two-pitch song is created by striking the bells with a mallet or beater. It creates bright and sustained tones. Due to the nature of the crafting process and materials used, each bell from Ghana will have its own pitch and sound quality.
SIZE: 5.5in tall low bell and 8in total height. This small-size gankogui (gon-koe-KWI) traditional bell is available as part of a set and is also sold individually.
