Right-side engine motor mount: why it matters
- Position-specific support: Chevrolet Sonic mounts are side-dedicated; the right mount carries the weight of the belt-driven accessories (A/C, alternator). If it collapses, the engine tilts, snapping belts, hoses and wiring.
- Vibration isolation: The right mount's rubber cushion is tuned to cancel the 1.4/1.8 L engine's primary harmonic; when it fails, steering-wheel and seat vibration jumps 3-4×, fatiguing drivers and loosening interior trim.
