Rap music was born in late 70s and spent most of the 80s paving the roads for the Rap explosion of the 90s. Those paved roads allowed so much talent to enter the Rap scene, with each one bringing a new and unique sound. Fans clearly showed up and responded in a huge way launching the careers of some of the biggest rappers of all time.
