These bolts are purchased in bulk from the same supplier that GM uses. These are second design bolts that have a retaining ring on the bolt shank. Using different bolts on the same rod will cause uneven clamping loads. The connecting rod bolts on all LS engines are torque-to-yield (TTY) bolts and must be replaced once removed for service. These new bolts are TTY bolts and can be tightened up to 3 times for assembly purposes.
