Description

Enhance your decor with a Red figure Amphora with lid from Ancient Greece. Amphora is an Ancient greek vase, used for storing wine and olive. Red-figure vase painting is one of the most important styles of figural Greek vase painting. It developed in Athens around 520 BC and remained in use until the late 3rd century BC. Its modern name is based on the figural depictions in red colour on a black background, in contrast to the preceding black-figure style with black figures on a red background. Hercules and Cerberus. The most dangerous labor of all was the twelfth and final one. Eurystheus ordered Hercules to go to the Underworld and kidnap the beast called Cerberus. Eurystheus must have been sure Hercules would never succeed at this impossible task.
