This listing includes five cup magnets which are made of grade 8 ceramic magnets encased inside of steel cups. The steel cups are chrome plated with a shiny and rust proof finish. The magnet and the steel cup form a magnetic circuit which triples the holding power to 50 LB direct pull on a solid steel surface. The steel cup also provides protection to the magnet so it becomes much more durable. The outer diameter of the magnet is 2.4" (60 mm) with a 0.27" (6.5 mm) center hole (for a ¼” screw). The total thickness is 0.35" (8 mm).

These magnets can be used for magnetic lifting, retrieving, and magnetic bases for mounting. Cup magnets are also known as round base magnets.
