Installation Guide: Partsapiens Fuel Injector Micro-Filter Removal & Installation Tool This guide outlines how a DIY mechanic can quickly and cleanly replace internal basket-screen micro-filters, helping restore optimal fuel delivery and injector longevity.

Safety First
Wear PPE: safety glasses/goggles and fuel-resistant gloves (e.g., nitrile).
Work in a well-ventilated area to disperse flammable fumes.
Keep an ABC fire extinguisher nearby; avoid sparks, hot surfaces, and smoking.
Manage spills: keep absorbent rags/pads on hand; dispose of contaminated materials per local regulations.
Depressurize the fuel system per the vehicle service manual. This guide assumes injectors are already removed.

Required Tools & MaterialsPartsapiens Fuel Injector Micro-Filter Removal & Installation Tool + replacement micro-filters (6 mm OD, 13.8 mm length)
Safety glasses / goggles and fuel-resistant gloves
Lint-free rags or shop towels; small parts tray/container
Injector cleaning solution (carb cleaner, injector cleaner, or ultrasonic cleaner)
Small pick/dental tool (for O-rings/pintle caps and bore inspection)
Bench vise with soft jaws (optional but recommended)
Replacement O-rings and pintle caps (recommended for full service)
Light lubricant for O-rings (e.g., silicone grease)

PreparationRemove injectors from the vehicle and fuel rail.
Clean injector exteriors to prevent debris entering the bore (ultrasonic cleaning recommended).
Inspect for damage/corrosion; remove old O-rings and pintle caps if replacing.

Micro-Filter RemovalSecure the injector in a vise with soft jaws (or hold firmly). Expose the fuel inlet end.
Locate the nylon basket screen inside the fuel inlet port.
Insert the tool's threaded tip into the center of the screen and rotate clockwise until it bites.
Twist slightly and pull straight out with steady motion. The filter should extract in seconds.
Inspect and clean the bore: remove any fragments; wipe with cleaner and a lint-free rag.
Repeat for each injector requiring replacement.

Micro-Filter InstallationPlace a new micro-filter on the tool's flat, unthreaded press-end.
Align the filter with the injector's inlet; keep it straight and centered.
Press firmly and evenly to seat the filter squarely without crushing it; push until flush.
Verify seating: the screen should be even, fully inserted, and undamaged.
Repeat for all remaining injectors.

Post-InstallationInstall new lubricated O-rings and pintle caps to ensure proper sealing.
Optional: perform a final ultrasonic clean to remove any residual debris.
Optional: flow-test injectors for pattern and volume before reinstalling.
Reinstall injectors following the vehicle manufacturer's torque specs and procedures; check for leaks.

Fitment Note Designed for injectors that use basket screens (~6 mm OD × 13.8 mm length). Always confirm your injector's filter size before ordering.
