The Estes Mayhem Model Rocket Kit delivers high performance and hands-on learning in one advanced STEM exercise. Designed for experienced builders, the Mayhem combines sleek 2-stage aerodynamic styling with a clear payload section, allowing rocketeers to experiment with real-world aerospace concepts. As part of classroom projects or individual exploration, you can insert small objects, instruments, or scientific payloads in this model rocket for in-flight observation and recovery.
Standing tall and stable at 33.6", the Mayhem soars up to 2,100 ft. when powered by Estes engines (sold separately), showcasing the science of thrust, stability, and flight dynamics. You can launch it in a single stage or utilize its 2-stage design, which includes the initial boost and upper stage. Builders gain a deeper understanding of STEM principles through a creative, hands-on educational experience that connects engineering, physics, and space exploration.
To build and launch this rocket, you will need scissors, a pencil, a ruler, fine sandpaper, carpenter's glue, plastic cement, a hobby knife, masking tape, primer (white), paint, a clear coat (optional), an Estes Porta-Pad II Launch Pad, an Electron Beam Launch Controller, compatible Estes model rocket engines, Starters, Recovery Wadding, and 4 AA batteries (sold separately).
