The Matthews Runway Base delivers maximum stability in minimum height. Originally designed for use with the Magic Stand, this ultra-low rolling steel base can handle just about anything you throw at it — from heavy lighting fixtures to rigging setups that demand a strong, mobile foundation. Built entirely from steel components, not plastic, the Runway Base provides years of reliable, on-set performance. Its straight-tracking, multi-directional locking casters glide smoothly across studio floors, then lock firmly in place for precision positioning. A standard Junior Receiver (1-1/8") allows direct mounting of compatible stands, risers, or fixtures. When not in use, it folds flat and can be stacked for compact storage — an essential feature for busy sets, studios, and rental houses.
