The jar is then filled with tiny white quartz crystals. The cork is bailed in your choice of metal and attaches to the necklace with a jump ring. The mammoth hair is a medium reddish brown color with thick strands that have a satiny sheen to them. Some individual hairs are nearly a foot long! The hair comes from a specimen found in the ice in Siberia and is estimated to be at least 15,000 years old.
