On the face of the ring it's an image that appears on the Miraculous Medal, which was created after the Marian apparition to St. Catherine Labouré in 1830. The 'M' symbolizes Mary at the foot of the cross at the crucifixion. On both sides of the ring are some very emblematic symbols. These symbols represent the Immaculate Heart of Mary.
